Doug McKellan - Staff Coach

Doug has been coaching since 1996 (27 years). His coaching career started in Abbotsford (1996 to 2008), where Doug was mentored by ex Whitecaps & Team Canada interim coach Colin Miller for several of those years. While in Abbotsford, Doug coached a U18 boys Conference Cup champions team and several men's teams including Abbotsford Storm men's Division 3 Fraser Valley Soccer League Champions with a 15W-1L season. 

Doug has coached in Mission since 2009 and continues to learn from Mission Soccer Club Technical Directors.

Mission Soccer coaching experience: 

Timbits (U6 & U7), Minis (U8 to U10) and all competitive levels of youth soccer from U11 to U18 except Metro and BCSPL. Doug has coached many youth teams to cup finals and league championships. While coaching in Mission his teams have been competitive including one perfect league season (15-0 season U13B Div2 Mission Guardians).

Doug continues to enjoy working with players of all ages and encourages them to be the best they can be and not settle for mediocrity. He is always looking at ways to improve as a coach to benefit players and the club in the long term. He always gives his best and expects the players to be their best too. Many of his players continue to be involved in soccer as players and/or as coaches all over the Fraser Valley. A few of his former players are coaching their own kids now, some at Mission Soccer.
